This August we will surveying the famous Willard Peak mountain goat herd just east of Ogden, UT. This is an area familiar to RMGA volunteers and continues to be one of our most popular annual projects. Unfortunately, the Willard Herd has been in decline. The state has implemented efforts to help the goat numbers rebound including the lessening of hunting opportunities and complete elimination of live capture out of this herd to supplement others.
This August we will backpack across the Wasatch front around Willard and Ben Lomond Peak to survey the herd and provide the regional biologists with the most current goat numbers possible to make the tough decisions in order to help this herd recover. Please sign up and invite friends!
