Glacier National Park Goat Count (Completed)

Orientation will occur Thursday evening with regional biologist Jami Belt.

Volunteers need to be able to attend this backcountry count in it's entirety, and will be operating with the same set up as last year – 2 groups of 4 (total of 8 participants) along two backcountry trail systems. This count has limited room, so priority participation will be given to RMGA members over public members; first come first served, with a waitlist created in case of short notice cancellations.

There will be a group campsite booked at the St. Mary’s campground. Count volunteers will head into the back country Friday morning and return Sunday evening – the group site will be booked until August 26, so those will long travel days can stay the extra night if they would like.

Trail details will be provided closer to count days.

Due to the limits on participant numbers, registration remains open exclusively to RMGA members.
