Research & Conservation
Grant Program

RMGA is focused on the conservation of mountain goat populations. Our grant program provides funding for projects and organizations that share our commitment to research and conservation. We believe that supporting research efforts is crucial to creating a sustainable future.

Research & Conservation Granting

To request conservation funds from the Rocky Mountain Goat Alliance, please download and complete the form below. Email the completed form and accompanying documents to admin@goatalliance.org. Upon receiving a request form, The Science and Conservation Committee will discuss the project's alignment with the mission, goals and funding priorities.

Open funding periods are:

  • April 1st - September 30th

  • October 1st - March 31st

Decisions on requests are typically completed within 4-6 weeks.

RMGA wants to support as many goat-focused projects in a year as we can.  For this reason funding applications are each awarded through the grant program up to $5,000 per year.

Student Awards

The purpose of the Student Awards Program is to promote professional development of students with recognition of their role in future mountain goat research, management and conservation. Awards of up to $500 USD will be given to offset costs associated with participating in professional conferences and activities. To be considered for the award students must submit the completed application, including provisionally-accepted conference abstract. The student must give an oral or poster presentation to be eligible for funding (if funding is limited, oral presentations will be prioritized over poster presentation). To foster further engagement and professional development, successful applicants should offer to volunteer time and efforts to help with conference coordination.

Funding periods are:

  • April 1st - September 30th

  • October 1st - March 31st
